Medical Laboratory Technician Location: San Dimas, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,847 per week Shift Information: Nights - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Scientist II Profession: Clinical Laboratory Scientist Specialty: Clinical Laboratory Scientist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Current and valid state license if required Certifications: ASCP certification or equivalent required Must-Have: - Bachelor’s Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution Description: Clinical Laboratory Scientist II position available for an 8-hour night shift from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Candidates must possess at least 2 years of clinical laboratory experience. Candidates are required to work every other weekend night shift. Candidates must have a CLS license with an MTA prefix. Each individual will perform only those waived, moderate, or highly complex tests authorized by CLIA. Candidates must adhere to laboratory procedures for the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results. Following established quality control policies and documenting corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance specifications is essential. Candidates must be capable of identifying problems affecting test performance and must notify their immediate supervisor if issues arise. The role requires performing a wide variety of laboratory procedures that involve manual and automated methods in various disciplines. Maintenance of instruments and equipment must be performed and documented as appropriate. It is essential to review the accuracy of patient results prior to reporting. Candidates must recognize age-specific differences in expected results from newborns to geriatrics. Proficiency testing samples must be tested in the same manner as patient samples without collaboration prior to reporting results. This position may require performing venipuncture or capillary puncture on patients of all ages. Candidates may assist in the development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures. Adherence to all department and hospital policies related to safety and infection control is necessary. In the absence of a supervisor, this role may involve responsibilities as Lead Tech for the section during the shift. Responsibilities may also include tasks related to LIS and/or POC.
