Job Description Job Description Reporting to the Director of Employee Relations, the Senior Employee Relations Partner will serve as a strategic partner for assigned clients providing comprehensive employee relations consultation to promote a positive and productive working environment. This position is currently hybrid. POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide expert employee relations counsel to staff and management regarding performance management, disciplinary/investigation processes, policy and procedure interpretation and application, conflict in the workplace, harassment, discrimination, compliance, and code of conduct. Address confidential and sensitive personnel issues that require follow up and consultation with senior leadership. Use data to identify trends on staff relations topics across the university and make recommendations for ways to proactively and preventively address workplace concerns. Acting with a high degree of integrity, ensure all cases assigned are documented and acted upon in a timely and thorough manner. Conduct exit interviews for assigned areas. Serve as a facilitator for human resources based trainings, such as Discriminatory Harassment Awareness Training, Performance Review Training, training in the Management Certificate Program, and other supervisory and management training. Assist Director of Staff Relations with creating programs and initiatives that support positive relations among staff and the organization. Represent LMU staff relations within the human resources community and at professional organizations or associations, serve on committees as required. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 3 years employee relations experience involving human resource management & staff consultation, legal analyses, conflict resolution, mediation, management and staff training. Minimum 5 years human resource generalist experience encompassing experience in the major disciplines of human resource management, e.g., employee relations, training, benefits, and compensation. Demonstrated knowledge of current human resources ---best practices,--- employment law, and policy and procedure interpretation. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by experience in preparing reports and other business communications. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships that fosters trust. Sound judgement, high integrity, problem-solving/analytical skills and the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information while managing conflicting priorities. SHRM or SPHR/PHR certification preferred. REQUIRED EDUCATION: Typically, a Bachelor---s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Organizational Development or related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of benefit regulation/policy changes. Company Description Loyola Marymount Univeristy
