Supervise the day to day At-Need Arrangements Sales staff,
processes, and funeral services ensuring exemplary service that
exceeds customer's expectations. Observe staff and provide timely
constructive feedback and coaching that motivates improvement.
Essential Job Functions:
* Oversee the daily operations, safety, and quality of work
performed ensuring work is compliant with company policies,
procedures, and standards as well as federal regulations.
Continually review a sampling each of team member's work. Provide
timely feedback, recommend training, or professional development.
Determine work schedules and assignments to meet work load
requirements. * Using listening and influencing skills, ask
diplomatic probing questions to understand the root issue. Take
corrective actions to solve customers' concern(s); involve
additional resources as necessary. Corrective actions may include
proactively reviewing and recommending enhancements to company
processes and procedures; may take a lead role in implementing
change. * Responsible for screening candidates and recommending
offers of employment to candidates. Oversee new hire onboarding and
communicate job expectations. Develop annual SMART Goals for staff.
Provide continual constructive feedback, recommend training,
development opportunities, and document performance. Recommend
salary increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions with
management. Responsible for supporting and exhibiting honest and
open two-way professional communication with staff and customers
and following through on actions (accountability).
Experience and Education:
* Associate's degree in Mortuary Science, Business
Administration, or Hospitality required * Bilingual in English and
another predominant language (Chinese, Korean, Spanish) * At least
five (5) years' experience in the funeral services industry
required * At least two (2) years' experience supervising staff and
providing continual constructive feedback and coaching *
Proficiency with MS Office suite (outlook & word); Intermediate
level skill using MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
Abilities & Skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to
exhibit diplomacy under pressure; ability to quickly diffuse
customer concerns * Culturally sensitive to a diverse community and
language barriers * Self-starter with the ability to self-manage
and prioritize one's own and the team's workload * Ability to
maintain professional demeanor under stressful situations * Current
CA driver's license and good driving record * Public speaking
