Description:Blizzard Entertainment is seeking a curious and
motivated Associate Software Engineer to join our Platform Security
team.If you're passionate about security and excited to learn, this

Blizzard-supporting every game and service we build-gaining
hands-on experience with a wide range of technologies including
game engines, web platforms, databases, and machine learning
systems.This is more than a role in security-it's a chance to grow
your technical skills, contribute to the safety and integrity of
Blizzard's ecosystem, and help build unforgettable experiences for
players worldwide.This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work
position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home
studio for this role is Albany, NY, or Irvine,
CA.Responsibilities
- Assist with application security assessments and reviews under
the guidance of senior team members.
- Support the development and maintenance of internal tools and
automation to improve security practices.
- Research and monitor emerging threats and vulnerabilities
relevant to gaming and share findings with the team.
- Collaborate with developers to promote secure coding practices
and improve software development workflows.
- Help track, triage, and follow up on security issues discovered
during development or testing.
- Contribute to evaluating the impact of security advisories and
trends across teams and technologies.
- Participate in identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities in
code, configurations, and services throughout the software
development lifecycle.
- Support efforts to improve the security posture of Blizzard's
games by assisting with anti-cheat, anti-fraud, and data protection
initiatives.Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a software engineer,
preferably in security.
- A desire to learn, grow your skills, and support your
teammates-we succeed together.
- Foundational understanding of secure software development
practices and interest in applying them in real-world
scenarios.
- Familiarity with common application security risks such as
those found in the OWASP Top 10.
- Exposure to penetration testing concepts or tools like Burp
Suite, Fiddler, or similar (coursework or projects count!).
- Understanding of basic vulnerabilities like SQL injection, XSS,
and CSRF-even better if you've experimented with finding or fixing
them.
- Interest in learning more about topics like database security
(SQL or NoSQL) and encryption techniques (e.g., TLS, RSA,
AES).
- Willingness to problem-solve, ask questions, and collaborate
across disciplines.Bonus Points
- Interest in learning threat modeling or contributing to secure
design discussions.
- Exposure to mobile app development or a curiosity about
securing mobile platforms.
- Familiarity with any application security testing tools (static
analysis, dynamic scanners, or fuzzers).
- Passion for video games and enthusiasm for helping protect the

standard base pay range for this role is $30.05 - $55.59 Hourly.
These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires
across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and
offer will be based on several factors, including relevant
experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent

geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive
base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive
