Roles & Responsibilities Provide expert critical care nursing for high-acuity ICU patients, including neuro and cardiac cases Assess, monitor, and interpret cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic data and act promptly Manage ventilators and respiratory needs in partnership with RT 24/7 Safely administer and titrate medication drips and pressors, following unit protocols Serve as charge nurse or resource RN when assigned, coordinating care and staff assignments Perform bedside and huddle reporting to ensure seamless handoffs and continuity of care Float to Tele and ED ICU/Tele holds as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists to implement advanced care plans Qualifications Active RN license (California) or eligibility to obtain Minimum 2 years of ICU/critical care nursing experience; 3 years preferred Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS required Cerner EMR experience required CCRN strongly preferred Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitoring strips independently Comfort with ventilator management, pressors, sedation, and advanced hemodynamic care Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in fast-paced acute care settings Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) BSN not required for submission per posting, but ongoing education is supported Knowledge & Skills Critical care and ICU nursing fundamentals Ventilator management and respiratory support Cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation Medication drips, pressors, and advanced pharmacologic management Neuro critical care knowledge including ICP monitoring and TBI care Sepsis and stroke care protocols Familiarity with Cerner electronic medical records Team leadership and charge/resource nurse responsibilities Benefits Comprehensive medical, dental & vision coverage to keep you healthy and supported Paid time off so you can rest, recharge, and show up as your best self Licensure assistance and reimbursement to support your professional growth Robust orientation with ICU educator and dedicated preceptor time for a confident start Opportunities for ongoing education and CCRN preparation support A supportive team culture where collaboration and mentorship matter Flexible scheduling and predictable every-other-weekend rotation Referral bonus program and other recognition opportunities Travel Perks: Explore Long Beach, CA Long Beach is a gem on the Southern California coast — enjoy sunny beaches like Belmont Shore and Alamitos Bay, stroll Shoreline Village and the waterfront, visit the Aquarium of the Pacific, and tour the historic Queen Mary.
