The Outpatient Lab Clerk performs laboratory test ordering in the laboratory information system ( LIS), edits/updates laboratory test in patient electronic medical system (EHR) , centrifuges specimens, sends specimens to the main laboratory, audits patient requisition for accuracy, answers incoming telephone calls, greets patients, files records, and other clerical duties. This position requires excellent customer service and communication skills.

  Required Experience Required:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Six (6) months of lab experience
  • Six (6) months computer data processing and/or clerical experience.
  • Available to work Saturdays 7-11 am Preferred:
    • Knowledge of general lab test names
