About the Company: Nurture Collective is a practice that focuses
on the interaction of the complexities of maternal-infant mental
health and early childhood intervention. We provide various
services, including occupational, physical, and speech therapy
services, lactation support, feeding therapy, parent-and-baby
groups, etc. This BIPOC-owned, female-led company centers on
social-emotional development in addressing developmental delays. We
also focus on mitigating the development delays by facilitating
parent- child relationships and addressing the factors that
influence these delays, such as parental mental health and
well-being. We believe in building supportive communities to
support parents of young children, providing access to families
that may not receive therapy services otherwise. We support
families in Los Angeles County (Whittier, Lancaster, Los Angeles)
and the surrounding areas and accept a variety of commercial
insurance, Medi-Cal, and Regional Center funding. About the Job: We
are seeking to hire a full-time speech therapist assistant to
provide speech therapy to ensure families have the tools, support,
education, and training they need to support the development of
young children (0-5). The ideal candidate is a collaborative and
reflective provider with an understanding of child development,
parental-infant mental health, and a passion for working on behalf
of the healthy development of young children and their caregivers.
The candidate must be organized, creative, a good collaborator, and
thinks outside the box who can help envision the organization's
growth and help us achieve our vision. Key responsibilities
include:
- Adheres to and demonstrates Nurture Collective's core values
and mission in performing all aspects of this position
- Manages a caseload of 32-35 scheduled speech therapy treatment
sessions per week
- Provide coaching, consultation, training, and outreach to
community members, childcare settings, and other service agency
personnel in the area of child development and speech therapy
- Coach parents to learn and follow through with
interventions
- Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and
timely
- Support families through the transition process before their
child ages out of receiving Nurture Collective services
- Provide Speech-based groups to clients as needed
- Participate as an advocate for families and as a representative
of Nurture Collective at meetings and events throughout the
community, state, and beyond as requested
- Reports to the Speech Therapy Program Manager
- Requires one year experience working with birth to 5
population
- Must be organized, have proficient computer skills (including
Google Workspace) and excellent written and verbal communication
skills; detailed-oriented, organized, and manages time well Job
type: full-time W-2 employee Basic qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology required with
Certificate of Clinical Competence
- At least 1 year of pediatric experience
- Licensure or the ability to receive California licensure
required
- Ability to drive and maintain California license and insurance
on personal vehicle for work
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Ability to pass the pre-hire background check required
- Experience working with Part C/Early Intervention services is
preferred
- Bilingual therapist (Spanish) speaking is preferred Physical
and Other Demands:
- Must be willing to travel as necessary to provide services
in-home to families in the Los Angeles County area
- Must establish and maintain working relationships within the
agency and with clients
- Must be able to work in a consultative model/transdisciplinary
model of intervention and a family-centered service delivery
model
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of testing
equipment, toys and supplies
- Must be able to sit on the floor and move quickly after infants
and toddlers
- Salary: dependent upon experience
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience working with
young children and families (preferred)
- Work location: Lancaster/Antelope Valley, CA or Whittier
