insure decedents are picked up, and ensure all Death Certificates
are completed in accordance with state, federal, and Company rules
and regulations.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESMust be able to perform the
essential functions of the job with or without reasonable
accommodations.Take First Calls and take action to obtain doctor
information, embalming permission, and removal permission.Provide
proactive and timely service for all internal and external
customers.Create checks for health department fees and outside
mortuary fees (task will change when IT enhancements are
implemented).Proof death certificates prior to filing to ensure
accuracy.Mail out certified copies of death certificates (task will
change when IT enhancements are implemented).Comply with state and
federal laws, and with established Company rules and regulations by
ensuring that documentation to support the disposition of remains
are complete, accurate, and filed.Stay updated on changes from
Coroners' Offices, state and county health departments, and the
death care industry.Work according to safety standards set by the
Company, and by state and federal agencies. Report unsafe
conditions to management.Participate in training and skill
development opportunities to improve competency and customer
service.Report to work on time, work occasional overtime, and
maintain standard attendance; must work rotating schedule including
weekends, holidays, and hours range from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00
p.m.Experience and Education:Minimum of 3 years experience in a
business environment (knowledge of Mortuary and/or Cemetery
preferred)High School Diploma, or GEDSpecial SkillsOperate
Electronic Death Registration System (EDRS)MS Office SoftwareCA
Driver's LicenseKeyboard at 40 wpmWork seated at a workstation, or
standing while filing, in a carpeted, air-conditioned office where
the noise volume from coworkers is moderate. Customer service
demands and performance failures carry a significant emotional
weight. Daily output deadlines must be met, and work must be
completed before leaving for the day. Diplomacy, negotiation, and
patience are required to work with Medical Doctors and Health
Departments. Workloads are highest during the winter holiday
season.Physical RequirementsIncumbent must sit at a computer
workstation for prolonged periods of time, stand while filing, lift
weight of up to 25lbs., drive a Company vehicle, and walk in
outside weather from one area to another.Equipment / Machines
